A brief introduction by Tim:
I cannot begin to express appreciation to Mr. Zens for his labors and studies in the word of God. A great deal of my thinking has been shaped by reading the Baptist Reformation Review and Searching Together since the early 80s. I have particularly benefitted from his challenges on church body life (church leadership and form).
But I would say that the most significant studies of a theological nature have come from Jon's perspectives on the covenants, Old and New, and the place of law and grace in the believer's redemption. They have caused much of my understanding to fall into place that was in confusion by having only the systems of "Dispensationalism" and "Covenant Theology" to choose from. I won't call Mr. Zen's treatments "The Answer" to the problem, but certainly they are the catalysts for further thought and study.
The article, "'This Is My Beloved Son . . . Hear Him' -- A Study of the Development of Law in the History of Redemption" is a rather lengthy article. I have, I pray not too clumsily, divided the article up into chapters for easier consumption. I hope you enjoy Jon's studies and are stimulated to think more on the subject of grace and our redemption in Christ.
