(1703-1758) was the pastor of Northhampton Church in Massechusetts for 23 years after which he was removed by divine providence to Stockbridge, MA to work among the native Americans. He was the primary evangelical leader in the First Great Awakening in New England and is considered to be the greatest theologian concerning revival as well as one of the most brilliant men America ever produced.
